2010 Brother-Brother Championship HILTON HEAD - This spring bands of brothers from every corner of the country will once again set aside sibling rivalries and team up for a chance to claim the 2010 Brother-Brother National Championship at Bluffton’s Old South Golf Links. The 36-hole Better Ball tournament is open to any and all two-man blood brother teams, and features two divisions of play: team low net and loss gross. The event is scheduled for May 13-15.

Part golf tournament and part social gathering, the Brother-Brother event has become a yearly ritual for some brothers since its inception in 1993. For other pairs, it’s served as the common ground to repair estranged relationships.

HT Senior Tour Championship returns to National Golf Club in North Carolina Print E-mail

National Golf ClubThe Harris Teeter Senior Amateur Tour is bringing its season-ending championship back to the Sandhills after a two-year absence, and National Golf Club has been selected as the tournament's primary venue.

The championship takes place Nov. 17-18 and is expected to draw more than 200 golfers from seven states. The tour will use National's Jack Nicklaus signature course both days, along with Mid Pines Golf Club the first day and Pine Needles Resort & Golf Club the second day. National will also host practice rounds on Nov. 16.

USGA To Stage U.S. Open And U.S. Women's Open at Pinehurst Back-to-Back in 2014 Print E-mail

The Putter Boy statue at Pinehurst ResortThe United States Golf Association has announced that the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open will be played in consecutive weeks on the No. 2 course at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. The U.S. Open will be conducted June 12-15, and the U.S. Women's Open will be played June 19-22.

It will mark the first time the two national championships will be contested on the same course in back-to-back weeks.

Seller of Counterfeit Golf Equipment Pleads Guilty, Will Pay More than $200,000 in Restitution Print E-mail

Golf Pride golf gripsLAURINBURG, N.C. - Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that a seller of counterfeit golf equipment, which included fake Golf Pride grips, pleaded guilty to 12 counts of selling illegal, counterfeit golf equipment.

An investigation by the North Carolina Secretary of State Trademark Enforcement Division uncovered a major counterfeiting operation run by Warren Fondrie and two other defendants. Fondrie pleaded guilty to 12 counts of selling counterfeit golf equipment. He will not serve the sentence as long as he complies with all the terms of his probation by paying restitution of more than $253,358 to his victims. Golf Pride and other companies whose trademarks were counterfeited are eligible to receive restitution under the terms of Fondrie’s plea agreement.
