 SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation had several employees volunteer at thGolf Pride Goes Wild About Wellness by Supporting Operation Healthy Kids e Operation Healthy Kids Wild About Wellness event at Richmond Senior High School last week. In addition to year-round support of Operation Healthy Kids, this event was the finale of a yearlong program that focuses on teaching kids about health and wellness through classroom learning.

Carolinas PGA Section Set to Raise the Fundraising Bar this Patriot Golf Day

Major Dan Rooney and Arnold PalmerThe Carolinas PGA Section invites golfers of all skill, age and interest levels to take part in the 4th Annual Patriot Golf Day, being held Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-6, at a number of local Carolinas PGA member facilities.

Hundreds of golf courses, driving ranges, and independent golf businesses in every part of North and South Carolina will register to host their own special Patriot Golf Day events this year, which benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, an organization that provides scholarship opportunities to the families of soldiers who’ve been injured or killed in the line of military duty.

Coore and Crenshaw to Restore Historic Pinehurst No. 2

A historic photo of Pinehurst No. 2PINEHURST, NC – Pinehurst has signed an agreement with the renowned firm of Coore and Crenshaw Inc., to return both natural and strategic character to its championship No. 2 course. Work will be conducted gradually in 2010 without any closure to the course or to individual holes until mid-November.

The project’s philosophy is to restore the course’s natural aesthetic characteristics and to bring back strategic play originally crafted by Donald Ross, but that have been lost over time. The changes include returning sandy waste areas, native wiregrass and natural bunker edges; widening the fairways to play as they did in the era from 1935 to 1960; and reducing the amount of manicured rough.
